Jaguar C-X75 1.6-liter Engine Makes 500bhp
Jaguar has just confirmed that the stunning new Jaguar C-X75 hypercar will be powered by a new 1.6-liter engine, twincharged (turbocharged and supercharged) to produce around 500bhp. If you have had bad credit in the past and are worried that this might mean that you have no chance of driving a high end motor from manufacturers such as Jaguar then you have options such as Guaranteed Car Leasing to keep you motoring!
The engine will be joined by two electric motors (each on the front and rear axle) and Jaguar is determined that this car will outperform any of their competitors cars in the fast-growing and extremely competitive electric supercar segment. Although it is still in its prototype stages, Jaguar engineers are adamant that the car will have a top speed of 200mph and a 0-62mph time of sub 3.0 seconds.
Jaguar has taken the extra mile to make this plug-in EV car viable. With a liquid-cooled 200kg battery pack and a range of up to 60km, the car can do 0-62 in just 6.0 seconds with just electric power alone.
The 600v battery is placed by the engineers as close as possible to the center of the car to achieve optimum weight distribution and they are also working hard to cram all the heavy components like the rear mounted gearbox with seven speeds within the wheelbase. The seven-speed automated manual gearbox is one of Jaguar’s methods to shed weight. They also stated that by choosing to go with this gearbox instead of a dual clutch one, they avoided an extra 100kg weight which would otherwise just be extra baggage.
The chassis of the car will also be built extensively with carbon-fiber with engineering backup from the Williams Formula 1 Team. As the power of the engine is maximized with the use of both turbocharger and supercharger, power can be delivered throughout the rev range (no need to worry about turbolag here as the supercharger can deliver power while the turbo spools). Both direct and port-fed fuel injection are used to increase efficiency or power, whichever the driver needs.
Jaguar has no intentions of mass producing this car though and that only 200 units of the C-X75 will be built. The price for this limited run beauty of a sports car? If you had to ask, you can afford it. £700,000-£900,000. So while Guaranteed Car Leasing can get consumers approved on a new or used vehicle it might be the case that you can't quite afford the huge monthly repayments and so would be best looking at cheaper used models such as the XF, XJ or XK which still caries that Jaguar prestige.
